Ditch the tinsel and inject a little Scandanavian chic into your preparations this year! Caz your teacher will give you a taste of a very “hyggelig” (cosy) Christmas setting, with Danish crafts, Christmas songs and refreshments. You will learn how to make a few simple but very elegant Danish Christmas decorations such as:
As we make our decorative stash we will listen to popular Danish christmas songs and find out how Christmas is typically celebrated all over Denmark, over a nice hot cup of “Gløgg” and a nibble of "peberkage". Who will be teaching? Caroline (Caz) is half Danish (and half Indonesian) teacher of Danish Language and Culture. She became passionate about Denmark and its culture after living there for many years. Caz has had the honour of conversing with His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary (and apparently she has the same Danish accent as her!) and Jan Utzon (son of the late Jørn Utzon, Danish architect of Sydney Opera House). Caz also teaches Danish language and culture courses. Check out Laneway Learning for further info.
